Thanks Jeremy, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hear you about spending a lot of time on Twitter. The whole idea behind this post is actually to help you maximize the time you do spend on Twitter.

If you create your lists with a bit of strategy, you should be able to monitor all of the people and topics that you care to follow closely, with the least amount of time wasted on sifting through the clutter.

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated!

Great post Adam! I really should use lists more than I do! But I spend tons of time on Twitter already and may not want to spend any more. I really need an assistant!

You didn't sound snippy at all. And even if you had, I asked for you opinion. How you give it to me is entirely up to you. I hope I didn't sound on the defense in my response.

I will check her out for sure! Thanks again for your input Pam, it is truly appreciated!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me Pam!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you say "missed the mark", as I was asking a question, and not really trying to make a point. Like I say in the article, things are evolving so quickly that it's next to impossible to keep up. I honestly feel as though I'm missing something, and as you've made aware, falling behind.

Either way, thank you for hitting the mark and answering my question! I can see how hashtags can be used for humour and that does make sense now that you put it that way. I personally failed to see the humour on my own, and find the constant use of hashtags to be annoying, but I may see it a bit different now. Like I said, I'm no expert. I'm just a guy trying to understand why people do the things they do, online.

And, just to make you laugh I will #facepalm. Ouch, I just did, and it hurts!

I think you have missed the mark on this one, if I am honest, Adam. Similar to a pun/play on words, people will sometimes use hashtags as a 'funny' or to hit a point they are making home. Twitter is such a platform for engagement and a number of the biggest Tweeters out there - the "I would never call myself a guru", but are extremely influential - use them often, much to the enjoyment of their followers. Some may not seem funny, maybe, and yeah...some may be depressing, but they are a true expression and one of many ways to reach out and engage. And if I ever toss in a #ihaveissues hashtag, you can bet it's a self-depreciating ha ha tag and not depressing....but that's me, and my followers know that.

I also don't think that the occasional crazy tag is influencing other, key subject matter tags. I am not tagging 'serious' tags any less because I am using hashtags for fun sometimes. In addition to.

But hey...we all have our opinions, and if you don't like the cheezy tags, then that's totally legit.
